*JOB TITLE:             Cashier – Dine-In and Takeout *

REPORTS TO:        Manager

DEPARTMENT:     Operations

FLSA STATUS:       Non-exempt

                       

 

OVERVIEW: The Cashier is responsible for positively representing the Buffalo Wild Wings Brand as a first point of contact for Guests. This role is responsible for managing all takeout orders and accurately entering orders into the point of sale system and collecting payments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Wow ‘Em In

·        Answers phone within three (3) rings.

·        Greets Guest (s) within 45 seconds of arrival at register.

·        Gets permission from Guest to place on hold.

·        Inquires about reason for call and tailors response (e.g., takeout order, directions to restaurant, call for a Manager, etc.).

·        Asks questions of Guest to determine cues for takeout offers; how many serving, home, office, etc.

 

Quench & Assist

·        Genuinely suggests a specific Beverage, Sharable/Appetizer, Dessert.

·        Suggests sauce/seasoning customization options for meal choices.

·        Handles POS transactions efficiently for walk-in and phone orders.

·        Quotes a specific wait time for takeout food production.

·        Offers entertainment options while Guest waits (e.g., sit at bar, TV proximity, gaming device).

 

N.O.W. Deliver the Taste

·        Delivers food, confirms the order when placed in front of Guest.

·        Presents takeout order to Guest; shows containers and matches those to order on receipt.

·        Checks for sauce, dressing, carrots/celery accompaniments.

·        Ensures sauce stickers are present on applicable covers/lids.

·        Explains any promo material in bag to Guest.

·        Asks Guests if there is anything else they might need to enjoy their meal.

Are We Blazin'?

·        Engages with waiting Guests.

·        Uses down time to clean and organize Cashier area.

·        Assists other positions as able.

·        Works well with all Teammates

·        Delivers dessert, w/ fresh utensils and napkins.

  • Wow 'Em Out *

·        Thanks Guests as they leave the restaurant.

·        Reminds Guests about our Large Order Takeout Program.

·        Invites Guests back for a specific upcoming event.

·        Uses Guests’ name, when possible.

Miscellaneous

·        Cleans and organizes restaurant consistent with opening and closing duties as appropriate.

·        Fills ice bins at soda and bar stations.

·        Stocks service and bar stations with supplies and products.

·        Sweeps and mops floors.

·        Washes and wipes windows throughout the shift.

·        Wipes down bottles.

·        Dusts.

·        Moves and cleans underside of tables and chairs.

·        Runs/Delivers food.

·        Conducts pre-bussing.

·        Removes trash from both the dining areas and kitchen.

·        Washes dishes.

*Language, Math and Reasoning * 

·        Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to Guests and other employees of the organization.

·        Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

·        Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

·        High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
