Intern/Co-op opportunities can lead to full time careers Real World Responsibilities: During your time with us you will: Execute Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quote (RFQ) packages for New Product Development parts Perform quote analysis, supplier negotiations, and drive optimal sourcing scenarios (under category manager supervision) Receive training for and assist in New Product Development teams in cost estimation using various methodologies including: Apriori - cost simulation software Analagous part costing using supplier data Supplier Rough order of Magnitude Quoting Receive training for and assist Sr. Sourcing engineer in reviewing New Product development designs for cost & global manufacturability Resolve disputes between engineering and sourcing teams as it relates to technical specifications, engineering tolerances, quality, delivery and cost Receive training for and assist Sr. Sourcing Engineering in performing Vertical Integration and CAPEX using RoI and NPV frameworks Assist Sr. Sourcing engineer via standardization and documentation Sourcing best practices / methodology improvements for internal publishing Assist in delivery of key sourcing milestones in new product development programs Contribute to ongoing development of sourcing tools including web-based software tools Verify and improve data accuracy related to part classification, incoterms, forecasting, etc. As part of our team we will: Provide you with real-world assignments that will provide you valuable experience as you begin your career in engineering or sourcing Introduce you to professionals and gain proficiency in Engineering and Strategic Sourcing functions. Must haves: Has or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Business, applied math degrees will also be considered, position will focus more on data analytics and less on engineering Able to work full-time 40 hours per week for 6 months in Bothell, WA Be willing and able to participate in global project or supplier meetings as needed, potentially outside of normal business hours Experience in design engineering, through engineering clubs or past internship experience Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) Financial awareness and ability to assess the commercial viability of projects Highly organized, self-managing and capable of managing a large workload and competing priorities Integrity and Trust Superior attention to detail Nice to haves: Adaptable, innovative, and proactive Experience managing large / complex bills of materials Strong analytics skills with proven experience in data analysis and research Experience of using data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI Working knowledge of Oracle ERP and reporting platforms Fluency in basic manufacturing processes, especially in metal fabrication Familiarity with
