MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY Assistant Comptroller in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Provides day-to-day oversight of university accounting operations ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately, timely and in accordance with university policies and procedures, GAAP , FASB , and best practices for non-profit institutions of higher education 2. Coordinates fiscal year end closing and interim/annual financial audit processes providing required documentation to ensure timely completion of audited financial statements 3. Reviews reports and general ledger balances to preserve data integrity 4. Conducts accounts analyses, prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts 5. Manages monthly closing processes and distributes financial reports to campus business managers 6. Furnishes financial data and accounting insights to assist with the budget and forecasting reporting 7. Creates and documents standard procedures, cross training of team members, and ensures efficient and continuous operations 8. Completes external surveys and internal data requests from other university departments in the preparation of documents requiring financial information 9. Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc. 10.
