MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY Assistant Dean of Students in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Develop and oversee overarching strategy for student response and advocacy functions: student conduct, conflict resolution, student advocacy. 2. Represent the Office of Student Development on divisional and university committees. 3. Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc. 4. Serve as the back up to the Dean of Students in responding to and managing campus events, crises and demonstrations, including as the back-up chair of the Student Emergency Response Team. 5. In coordination with the Dean of Students, write and assist in the implementation of a strategic and assessment plan for the office. 6. Serve as a consultant about and advocate for student needs and interests in university decision-making processes. 7. Develop campus-wide educational programs related to justice issues and personal/community rights and responsibilities. 8. Administer the Parental Notification Policy in accordance with university and federal guidelines. 9. Consult on significant student conduct outcome decisions and serve as an appeals officer on student conduct decisions resulting in warnings and University Probation. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master\'s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or related field A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the administration of student life programs including student conduct. Supervisory experience required. Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Commitment to, knowledge of and experiences with intercultural and community service programming, leadership development, student conduct and student activities.
