Crane 1 Services, Inc. Draftsman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The Manufacturing Designer/Draftsman is responsible for generating production drawings to be utilized by our manufacturing facilities for overhead crane/runway structure fabrication and field drawings for installation. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software, combined with exceptional attention to detail and strong technical skills, is essential. Success in this position also depends on your ability to clearly communicate fabrication and assembly processes and engineering requirements.
Position Roles & Responsibilities
Provides multi-view drawings utilizing SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD software with minimal supervision and provides technical support
Properly annotate drawings with AWS D1.1 weld symbols and other standardized symbols to clearly illustrate your design for the customer and our manufacturing facilities.
Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize all the components of the designed equipment.
Work collaboratively with other disciplines to facilitate our turn-key projects, including electrical, structural, civil, installation crew, etc.
Provide phone support and technical assistance when asked by our installation crew or customers.
Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use.
Skills and Experience
Excellent communication skills in customer service and coordinating with the branches
2+ years of SolidWorks/AutoCAD experience
Excellent technical and strong mathematical skills
Bachelor’s degree in Drafting/Engineering preferred
Knowledge of assembly, welding, strength of materials, and lifting mechanics preferred
Must be detailed oriented and be able to precisely follow customer specifications and industry codes.
Able to work within tight deadlines in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in 3D and 2D, AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project
