School/College/Division Description

The mission of Restaurant Operations (https://uwm.edu/dining/connect-with-us/our-work/) is to provide a quality dining experience at an affordable price that enhances campus life and supports the overall mission of the University. It is the responsibility of Restaurant Operations to operate in a fiscally responsible manner, contribute fair-share support to the University, and sustain adequate reserves for future growth.

Job Summary

Under the general management of the food service supervisor, this position will act as a lead worker for the dishroom. The incumbent is responsible for following the correct washing, storing, and sanitation procedures. The incumbent will also be asked to train and oversee student staff working on the same duties.

Tentative Schedule:Monday-Friday, 5:00pm – 11:00pm

These positions have variable schedules and are subject to university breaks. The break for Temporary/Part time employees will vary from year to year but generally runs from the end of December through mid January and the end of May through mid August. Dates and times are subject to change based on needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous dishwasher experience in a commercial kitchen setting

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supervisory and/or lead work functions, such as assigning tasks or training, in a restaurant or customer service environment

  • ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent

    Target Salary Range 15-18 (salary above posted will be considered based on experience)
