We are seeking a Pre-Construction Bid Specialist to join our Pre-Construction team in the Sioux Falls, SD area or the Milwaukee, WI area. The Pre-Construction Bid Specialist will assist with bid proposals, preparing them for submission, review and outline responses as well as research portals for bid potentials.

The Role

  • Research portals and the internet for bid potential

  • Reviews RFI’s, RFP’s, or RFQ’s to outline response requirements

  • Maintains an updates calendar to stay organized and on schedule including the facilitation of internal proposal, bid review, and approval meetings

  • Prepares quotes and proposals for submission

  • Creates spreadsheets and fillable documents for pre-construction team

  • Generates and sends invoices to customers

  • Professionally submits bids and proposals to customer or their online portal

  • Interacts with consultants representing customers to obtain approvals for bidding

  • Coordinates receipt of required information for preparation of final quotation submittal

  • Communicates with customers to resolve problems with projects during bidding process

  • Follows-up on open and outstanding quotations with salespersons and customers to determine status

  • Communicates with account representatives, account executives, and inside sales reps to ensure quotes and resulting orders are complete

  • Provides updates on proposal status and due dates to Pre-Construction Specialist for CRM overall awareness

  • Supports creation of proposal materials and content for standardized templates and customized offerings based on customer’s request

  • Interacts with various Pre-Construction teams members and other groups within the organization to request and consolidate information for customer’s request

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree a plus

  • 5+ years of related experience in construction or engineering bidding

  • Strong knowledge of Construction project specifications and the bidding process

  • Previous experience pulling together full bid packages

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members

  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work with team and clients in various time zones

  • Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements is a plus!

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Strong computer skills using MS Office

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
