Brady Corporation Senior Electrical Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

What We Need:

Brady Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the design and development of advanced circuit boards for our next generation of industrial printing systems, including both benchtop and handheld battery-operated devices. You will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, production, and ongoing support.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and develop complex, multi-layered PCBs for industrial printing systems, incorporating microcontrollers, motor drivers, power management circuits, and various communication interfaces (e.g., USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).

  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and design specifications.

  • Conduct thorough design reviews and analysis to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Build and test prototypes to validate design functionality and performance.

  • Conduct rigorous testing, including EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability testing.

  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and software developers.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Electrical Engineering team.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies for potential application in our products.

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the design and development of PCBs for electronic devices.

  • Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout.

  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and testing procedures.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
