JOB REQUIREMENTS: Skills Trainer - SKILL012200 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Skills Trainer is responsible for providing coaching support to interns in Project SEARCH programs. The Skills Trainer will identify young adults\' strengths, interests, and abilities related to skill acquisition and will assist with preparing the interns for job development. This position identifies and creates solutions for enhancing soft skills, transportation, and skill acquisition to help interns develop increased independence and obtain employment. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and providing support to young adults in the Project SEARCH program.. Sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks that span 3 - 12 months. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. Periodically serves as a team member or subject matter expert on formal or department projects. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change. 2. Problem Solving: General supervision, regular review of work by manager or senior coworker. May be paired with senior team member for development purposes. Uses skills to solve problems of routine complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data, and resolve issues. 3. Technical Skills: Fundamental knowledge of professional principles and skills. Works in compliance with established procedures. 4. Community Engagement: Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community. Participates in volunteer opportunities as schedules and interest permit. 5. Coordinates and supports individuals in the orientation to host business\'procedures, products, services, standards, policies, benefits, and opportunities. 6. Leads efforts in identifying and creating solutions for behavioral, transportation, and skill acquisition for any of the young adults. 7. Participates in employment planning and steering committee meetings with partners on a monthly basis. 8. Partners with Job Developer in preparing and passing on potential job leads so that individuals gain community employment following the completion of Project SEARCH. 9. Leads the development of internship rotations within the business site to build skills for students resulting in integrated employment. 10. Communicates with key stakeholders by completing case management activities: write regular case notes, submit monthly progress reports to referral sources, and maintain other necessary records. 11. Attends trainings and staff meetings. Participates in assigned meetings, professional development, and training as required. 12. Represents the organization and the Project SEARCH program by maintaining effective communication and cooperative, professional working relationships with individuals, Project SEARCH instructor, business site contacts, referral sources, families, caregivers, and Goodwill staff. 13. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 1 year experience. 2. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. 3.
