Brady Corporation Trade Compliance Specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

What We Need:

Brady Corp is seeking a Trade Compliance specialist. The Trade Compliance Specialist is a key contributor to the Trade Compliance team. This individual will be involved with developing, implementing and monitoring import and export compliance policies in partnership with the Trade Compliance Manager. This role will be responsible for identifying harmonized tariff schedules, determining country of origin, facilitating USMCA certificates, ECCN, and resolving broker inquiries. In addition, the position will also act as an advisor and liaison on behalf of the trade compliance team working closely with global sites on applicable trade compliance matters.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist with auditing and classification of products according to the General Rules of Interpretation and Harmonized Tariff Schedules.

  • Maintaining Harmonized Tariff Schedules in Brady’s ERP system.

  • Provide technical expertise to cross functional teams to determine and or/validate product value, country of origin, tariff exemption eligibility, harmonized tariff code.

  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure trade compliance effectiveness and to identify areas of improvement.

  • Act as point-of-contact for Brady’s brokers, review all imports received by our brokers, provide correct trade data for Customs use, and develop SOPs with brokers.

  • Determine and assign trade information such as HTS, Country of origin, ECCN for finished goods, equipment, raw materials, and non-production items

  • Assist the Trade Compliance manager with developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure Brady Corporation and all of its business units are following applicable US Customs regulations.

  • Screen parties against the denied parties lists.

  • Complete AES filings and auditing.

  • Support export compliance audits and assessments.

  • Process dangerous goods freight according to DOT and IATA regulations.

  • Check freight to ensure it complies with TSA security regulations, that dangerous goods freight is properly packaged/labeled.

  • Research and analyze products for qualification for free trade agreements (e.g. USMCA, US-Australia).

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient Microsoft office skills.

  • Business software skills including SAP, ACE. OneSource.
