Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant, Inventory Control - Part Time - NICU - Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for maintaining inventory and stock for all supplies and equipment and related to the clinical function of the department. Monitors the Pyxis automated supply station system to assure timely and accurate delivery of supplies necessary for patient care. Generates all purchase requisitions for stock and non stock supplies and equipment. Researches all capitol equipment requests and obtains quotes and specifications sheets from vendors. Manages the reusable and disposable instrumentation for procedure rooms trauma rooms and pediatric area. Works closely with Bio Medical Engineering to insure all equipment inspections are up to date and all equipment is functioning Performs duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Places orders via the system to maintain par levels of supplies stock and non stock
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate the ability to perform all assigned tasks as per WUH policy and procedure
- Maintains open communication with supervisor to facilitate resolution of concerns or problems with inventory Demonstrates ability to set priorities
- Ensures prompt delivery of items to appropriate personnel and area
- Processes orders via the system in a timely manner
- Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions; demonstrates proper telephone etiquette
- Completes and maintains proper paperwork for the repair and maintenance of instruments and equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1-2 years related work experience. Excellent communication skills both oral written interpersonal and organization skills. Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of patient care supplies and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Emergency Department work flow.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.45 - $30.88 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
