Program Coordinator

The Opportunity

FCA is excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Program Coordinator. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a Program Coordinator in our Family Support Division.

The Safe Senior Prevention Coalition Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Prevention and Community Engagement, to provide coordination and management of adult-focused (45+ years old) efforts and development of environmental alcohol reduction strategies for a substance use reduction coalition.

Specifically, the responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and maintain a diverse coalition membership with local stakeholders

  • Plan and implement all coalition activities

  • Collaborate with other local, states and national organizations. Assist coalition members in conducting annual strategic planning and guide coalition to develop a comprehensive action plan based on needs-assessment and strategic planning

  • Work with Director, AVP and Data Coordinator/Contractor to develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with coalition members

  • Coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and communicate effectively with members to promote collaboration, negotiation, and problem solving

  • Work with development department to create and post relevant social media content

  • Continuously evaluate coalition effectiveness and coalition strategic plan

  • Document progress of program and activities in written reports to funding agencies and FCA leadership

  • Work with Director to oversee expenditures of coalition budget.

  • In conjunction with the Director, monitor and manage program budget, adjusting accordingly to support the fiscal health of program

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders so as to foster inter-departmental collaboration/referrals and to enhance program visibility among addiction/mental health professionals, consumer groups, school districts, community-based organizations, government officials and the public-at-large.

  • Assume other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as needed to ensure effective program and agency operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • At least 3 years in community organizing, coalition building and/or prevention work.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Valid and cleanNYS driver's license.

  • Bi-lingual (a plus)

Additional Information

  • Salary: $65,000 annually

  • Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours as needed.

  • This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Exempt.
