Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager, NYS Licensed RN / Bariatrics / Surgery Department. In this role, the successful candidate as Bariatrics Program Manager for both Mineola and Patchogue campuses for Bariatric Comprehensive Center of Excellence Verification Manages the institutions commitment to excellence by facilitating processes, maintaining memberships, protocols and data registry for the program and these activities and processes are in place and require regular monitoring, adjustments and insight into many environments (Bariatric society, Health insurance plans, Competition, new technology, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Streamlines and enhances all aspects of patient care. Responsible for coordination of pre-, peri-, post- and longtermpost-operativecareandworkwithinpatientandoutpatientproviderstoensuretheneedsofpatients are met.
    • Participates in the planning of care for patients and provides proper nursing interventions.
    • Triage clinical phone calls for issues relating to pre and post op patients. Wound care as necessary.
    • Develops teaching for patients and staff for new surgical devices and procedures. Oversees implementation and patient flow for new procedures and equipment in the OR.
    • Develops and coordinates outreach programs. New Program Development: Business development.
    • Coordinates pathways, standardizes operating procedures, oversees long term follows-up and support groups.
    • Plans,organizes,andevaluatesWeightLosssurgeryOptionsatseminarslocallyandwithinoutreach areas. Includes management, educational materials, speaker coordination, and follows up to program navigator for smooth transition to clinic service, surgery and beyond.
    • Evaluates patient testing results to determine if further testing is indicated or if patient is an appropriate candidate for surgery to discuss with surgeon, then discuss the findings with the patient and family as necessary.
    • Supports special projects Coordinates, implement and monitor special projects within assigned area.
    • Communicateswithhospital sitemanagementtomakesuregoalsarealigned,communicationisthoroughand scope and direction of project is on target.
    • Oversees Data Registry, assuring Data Compliance, Coordinates annual data validation during visits (survey).
    • Interpretsdata,identifiestrendsandsolutions,analyzescompilesprocessesderivesconclusions and develops solutions and recommendations based on best practices.
    • Facilitates hospital Bariatric Program multidisciplinary task force, maintain American Society for Metabolicand Bariatric Surgery ASMBS membership for providers and self, present updated American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery ASMBSACS guidelines to credentials committee, monitor QA, safety protocols, SCIP core measures and process improvement. Coordinate staff education for departments (ED, Perioperativeservice,Radiology,ICU,etc).
    • EnsuresdesignatedBariatricSurgeryareasinhospitalservices& clinic's participate in education & meet to address process & improve Bariatric Surgery core outcomes.
    • ManagestheinventoryofequipmentandinstrumentsbyestablishingprocessestouseBodymassindexBMI asadmitinformationhospitalwide;updatesallspecsforbariatricequipment,keepingpostedforeaseofuse; labeling all patient equipment load capacity; participating in process teams to procure equipment to accommodate all patients of size, hospital-wide.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree Nursing. Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State. Certification in relevant practice area required. 3 years Previous proven experience and expertise in Bariatric Surgery including scheduling, insurance authorizations, and pre-surgical testing with a minimum five years in Healthcare services. Previous leadership experience. Excellent communication (both oral and written). Preferred Qualifications:
5 years experience, Master's Degree Nursing, or Business. 1 -2 years Supervisory or management experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $112,360.00 - $183,129.50 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
