Transition Coach

The Opportunity

We are seeking a F/T Residential Counselor for our Walkabout site located in Freeport. Walkabout serving homeless young men and women ages 16-21. The program provides independent living skills and shelter for up to 18 months in order to prepare them for independent living.

Responsibilities

  • Provide informal counseling to residents and be available to residents for discussion of problems and goals.

  • Assist residents with their daily schedules and any transportation needs.

  • Make a daily inside and outside security sweep and maintain all required logs, documentation and any other required administrative tasks as required by the program.

  • Orient new residents to the house rules and regulations.

  • Assist with maintenance and cleaning of the house.

  • Prepare meals for residents and ensure there is adequate food and household supplies.

Qualifications

HS diploma required, some college preferred.
  • 2 years' experience working with adolescence required, residential setting preferred.

  • Valid NYS driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history.

  • Awake shift - no sleeping.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Valid and clean New York State Driver's License

Compensation Information

The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA's framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience' while still allowing for growth.

Additional Information

  • $18.65

  • Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours, as needed

  • This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Exempt/nonexempt
