AI Software Engineer - Senior Consultant *Please note:This role isnot eligiblefor100% remotework. Employees must live within a commutable distance of the Twin Cities Market and must be willing to be onsite at the client and/or Slalom office when needed.   • 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience including architecture and solutioning, in a client-facing or consulting environment
  • Development experience in front-end and back-end programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C#, Java, Kotlin or Swift; advanced expertise in Python for ML/AI use cases
  • Technical and conversational fluency in AI, GenAI, Machine Learning and at least one of the major clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Hands-on experience with RAG, agentic workflows, fine tuning, or other LLM-based techniques.
  • Experience putting ML/AI into production, and ability to talk through best practices and pitfalls
  • Previous experience working with business stakeholders to scope and estimate levels of effort to deliver
  • Agile, DevOps and continuous delivery experience (pipeline design, automated deployment, automated acceptance testing, configuration management)

What You'll Do

  • Apply Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and other relevant technologies to assist in building AI tools that solve real business problems.
  • Gather technical requirements, assess client capabilities, and analyze findings to provide appropriate solution recommendations and adoption strategies for product engineering and AI use cases
  • Assist in the design, development, presentation, and delivery of traditional ML solutions in areas such as Computer Vision, NLP, Recommendation Systems, etc.
  • Write the code to deliver solution-focused, outcome-orientated projects in a fast-paced, agile project environment in collaboration with a highly skilled team
  • Stay up to date on fundamental AI, ML and product engineering concepts to contribute to solution discussions and development
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, less experienced engineers, and client personnel
  • Contribute to the growth of the AI, ML and product engineering community within the organization through learning, mentoring, and sharing knowledge.
