As a member of the Comparative Animal Cancer Care and Research Program, you'll contribute to advancing clinical care, research, training, and teaching in a collaborative academic setting. Position: This is a full-time (100% appointment) faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with tenure-track or contract (non-tenure, clinical) track options available. The salary and rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities: Continual professional development to allow meaningful contributions to the tripartite mission of the CVM. Negotiable allocation of time for clinical service, teaching, and research, depending on applicant interests and goals. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide clinical service and training in the Veterinary Medical Center. Engage in independent and/or collaborative research to advance basic and translational Comparative Radiation Oncology. Teach and mentor house officers, graduate students, and DVM students. Engage in discipline/non-discipline related service to the CVM and other veterinary organizations. Clinical Opportunities: New Varian EDGE linear accelerator with integrated Eclipse, Aria, and Velocity software to allow for flexible and customized treatment planning and delivery (3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT/SRT, SRS). Medical physicists provide patient and machine quality assurance as well as support for complex planning and delivery. Close collaboration with radiation oncologists, therapists, and medical physicists within the Department of Radiation Oncology in the Medical School. Radiation and Medical Oncology are integrated, sharing in patient care, in a comprehensive specialty hospital with state-of-the-art equipment including a 3T Siemens Prisma MRI and a 128-slice dual-source Siemens Drive CT scanner with cardiac gating. Opportunity to engage with an active group of physician researchers, graduate students, and house officers through attendance at contouring/treatment planning rounds, journal clubs, and research seminars. Research Opportunities: There are numerous opportunities for cooperative, team-science-based research both within and outside the CVM, including the UMN Medical SchoolDepartment of Radiation Oncology, the UMNMasonic Cancer Center (an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center) and itsTranslational Working Groups. The UMN-CVM Clinical Investigation Center supports clinical studies and preclinical research with technical infrastructure, budgeting assistance, and study coordination according to GCP and GLP guidelines. Board certification in Radiation Oncology from ACVR or completion of an approved ACVR residency program. Eligibility for Minnesota state veterinary licensure.
