Clinical Supervisors must keep current with developments in the field, continue professional development, and contribute to the profession. This 40 hour per week, 10-month position would include 32 hours a week on-site at a local public school, operating as the SLP as well as direct supervision of 1-2 graduate students at a time throughout the academic year. 8 additional hours a week are reserved for clinical education duties and indirect supervision/education of graduate students (synchronous/asynchronous mix, potential for remote work) Duties/Responsibilities: - Providing clinical services to students in a public school with a broad age range of diverse identities and a wide range of speech-language and hearing disorders - Completing due process requirements and documentation to support educational speech-language services in a public school setting, including MA billing requirements - Supervising multiple SLP graduate student rotations in a public school setting - Performing third-party billing & documentation - Integration into the special education team of the contracted site Qualifications Required Qualifications: - BA/BS degree plus at least six years of experience, or an advanced degree plus at least four years of experience, or a terminal degree plus at least one year of experience - ASHA CCC credential (or eligible) and eligibility to provide clinical supervision per ASHA requirements - MN PELSB license in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligible) - Five or more years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in public school system - Demonstrated experience with clinical supervision of graduate students in speech-language pathology - Demonstrated ability to manage public school SLP caseload and work independently - Ability to work in-person, off-site, at local school district within 20 miles of campus - Must pass a background study clearance by the MN Department of Health background clearance and background verification to meet University requirements - Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Required physical, sensory abilities: - Ability to visually and auditory observe and analyze communication patterns and skills. - Manipulate testing and treatment materials - Keep accurate and timely records of speech-language assessment and intervention, including chart notes, formal diagnostic reports, and other written clinical summaries - Deliver technical assistance to professional peers as part of an interdisciplinary team - Counsel clients with communication disorders and their families - Be able to share and to elicit information from patients/clients, supervisor, peers and other health professional verbally and in a recorded format - Effectively, confidently, and sensitively converse with patients and their families Preferred Qualifications: - At least seven years professional related experience - MN Dept of Health SLP license (or eligible) - Motivated and enthusiastic personality - Training and experience in providing culturally responsive care - Proven ability to work cooperatively, collaboratively, and independently - Experience providing clinical supervision of multiple graduate students across at least two separate semesters - Experience mentoring graduate students with diverse learning needs About the Department The Julia M.
