Job Description Position Overview This role is part of the Amcor Rigid Packaging North America (NA) Accounting Shared Services team and reports to the Sr. Manager, Inventory and Cost Accounting. As aCost Accounting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assessing and optimizing the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze raw material costs, monitor inventory, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide valuable insights that drive cost efficiency and profitability. The role requires the successful candidate to have strong accounting, systems, and analytical skills along with high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stake holders. Responsibilities Raw Material Cost Analysis: Analyze cost impacts of price changes for specialty resins, additives, etc. Collaborate with Commercial and Procurement teams to support customer pricing of these materials. Collect and analyze data related to raw material purchases, inventory, and customer usage. Validate, track, and forecast the costs associated with procuring and using raw materials (including factoring in inventory levels / amounts on hand) Monitor fluctuations in raw material prices and assess their impact on overall costs. Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods. Evaluate effects on overall costs and profitability. Standard Cost Setting: Establish standard costs for raw material inputs. Develop, monitor and analyze cost standards based on industry benchmarks and internal processes. Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) Analysis: Conduct CVP analysis to understand the relationship between costs, volume, and profit. Provide insights into cost structures for different business scenarios. Account / Supplier Reconciliations: Ensure accurate reconciliation of cost-related accounts. Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Support and verify the 3-way match and payment processes. Support supply chain financing processes, accounting and reporting Financial Reporting: Prepare audit reports related to cost accounting. Present findings to management, highlighting cost trends and areas for improvement. Balance Sheet Management / Internal Controls: Manage the related balance sheet account, ensuring accurate recording of cost-related transactions. Process includes intercompany accounting and managing resin in transit. Support accounting for related entities (banking, interest, intercompany, etc.) Complete all related internal control testing and d cumentation Collaborate with plant accountants/controllers to maintain financial integrity. Policy Recommendations: Propose changes to company processes and policies to enhance cost efficiency. Collaborate with the North American business units to implement cost-saving measures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or CMA designation a plus. 3- 5 years of experience, including some experience within inventory / cost accounting in a large, complex, multi-location manufacturer (preference given to candidates with US Public Company experience) Strong systems aptitude with preference given to candidates with proficiency with SAP ERP.
