Stinson Leonard Street LLP Environmental, Energy, Mining and Transportation Attorney - Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description Stinson LLP is seeking an Attorney with five years or more of experience to join the Energy, Environmental, Mining, and Transportation Division, in our Minneapolis office. Qualified candidates will have five or more years of experience in regulatory counseling or litigation, with an energy or environmental focus and experience working with federal agencies. Qualified applicants will possess excellent academic credentials and have strong writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus. Qualifications Required: The candidate must have at least five years of regulatory counseling or litigation experience in environmental or energy law. We welcome candidates with experience from a federal regulatory agency such as the Environmental Protection Agency or the U.S. Department of Justice. Excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and academics are required. Clerkship and environmental or energy administrative and/or civil litigation experience are a plus. The successful candidate should have the following experience and skills: Significant responsibility for drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs; Proficiency handling e-discovery and factual investigation and development; Experience advising on major federal statutes such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA or other core environmental statutory and regulatory schemes, including development of applicability determinations, assistance with compliance obligations, and training; Administrative law experience, such as participation in rulemaking processes and/or rulemaking challenges, advising on permitting, and enforcement processes; Experience managing teams of attorneys on litigated or regulatory matters; The ability to apply creative, strategic, and analytical thinking to identify and resolve complex legal issues; and Experience with clients in the manufacturing, transportation or mining sectors, and the ability to follow trends in these industries, identify new business opportunities, and build relationships with existing and potential clients. Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or the ability to waive in to practice in that jurisdiction is required.
