BAE Systems Facilities Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

BAE Systems Platforms and Services has a current opening for a Facilities Manager I to support the Combat Mission Systems Business Unit in Fridley Minnesota. As a Facilities Manager you will oversee and manage all assigned Facilities Engineering and Facilities Maintenance group activities including the Technical and Capital Planning Department; provide direct supervision, review technical progress, evaluate results, and take action as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves in capacity of Site Facilities Manager with management/oversight responsibility for all facilities activities

Management/oversight responsibility for Facilities maintenance group activities, which includes bargaining unit interaction and understanding of negotiated union contracts.

Development and implementation of annual maintenance plan including preventative and cyclical maintenance.

Insures that all project and maintenance activities adhere to proper safety standards, OSHA regulations, ADA compliance, environmental goals.

Management of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure maximum utilization of capabilities, efficiency, accurate and timely reports.

Ensures all systems associated with building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment is in operational readiness at all times.

Supervises technical requirements of assigned projects including monitoring and identifying deviations in budgets, schedules, system performance, supportability, and product ability.

Supervises, trains, and evaluates other engineers/technical personnel depending on organization; recommends and/or initiates personnel actions; evaluates and suggests staffing to ensure maximum utilization of personnel; ensures compliance with BAE Systems and departmental policies and procedures; assigns tasks and performs administrative duties.

Contributes to or leads the development of technical and/or management estimate for capital projects.

Coordinates with appropriate technical and support groups to ensure designs meet standards and performance requirements.

Prepares reports for management and customers concerning project progress. Assists in planning of projects by evaluating requirements and developing schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements.

Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience.

Budget planning and forecasting.

Managing multi-million dollar expansion projects.

Sound knowledge in engineering practices and principles.

Strong logistical and strategic planning.

Highly effective, strong leadership and management experience.

Proven manufacturing site facility leadership.

Highly effective communication skills to convey information to and with people and teams, including sharp technical writing skills.

Overall ability to filter and structure information of relevance and apply toward realization of goals and objectives.

Developed, sound, and reasonable approaches to reach solutions for difficult technical problems at system or subsystem levels.

Team-building experience and the ability to organize and focus team energy towards resolution of a problem.

Ability to effectively interact across the organization at all levels.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferable Engineering degree

Need the ability to obtain a US Government clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
