Fairview Health Services is hiring an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our Interventional Imaging team at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.

This position has a sign-on bonus starting at $4000!

The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The interventional technologist assists with invasive procedures in the Interventional Angio suites, collects and assesses image data and performs scrub role assisting the radiologist.

Schedule : This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks on day/evening shift!

Responsibilities Job Description

Maintain patient care

Participate in creating a culture of patient safety

Demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness

Verify patient identification and documentation

Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure

Achieve quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocols

Proficient in patient preparation and sterile tray set up

Ensure patient data integrity

Perform examinations

Identify relevant data from images accurately.

Communicate pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner

Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

Accurate and timely identification and uploading of images into PACS

Participate as an active team member

Orient and mentor new employees and students

Participate in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

Clean and maintain rooms and supplies

Provide integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care

Contribute to a positive work environment

Perform other duties as assigned

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

Identify and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly

Maintain a high level of competency

Accept new technology as it’s introduced into the facility

Participate in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

Apply major principals of radiation safety at all times

Qualifications

Required

Vocational/ Technical training or Associate Degree in Diagnostic Imaging or related

Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration, or Registry eligible with successful completion within 90 days

Pr eferred

Bachelor’s in Radiologic Technologist

3 years of Technologist experience in X-Ray, Interventional Radiology, or Cardiology Vascular Services

Minimum of one year of experience in Pediatric Interventional imaging or minimum of 1 year of experience in IR and 1 year of experience working with children in a capacity including frequent interactions and an understanding child development

ARRT IR certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
