General Mills Inc Manufacturing Business Lead - Holistic Margin Management in Minneapolis, Minnesota

POSITION OVERVIEW As part of our General Mills Accelerate Strategy, Holistic Margin Management (HMM) is critical to deliver the value we need to reinvest in our businesses to fuel growth. HMM drives the removal of waste to offset inflation, keeps our prices affordable, and allows us to reinvest in core growth business drivers such as marketing, trade, and product improvements. In closer partnership with Manufacturing, the HMM team is seeking a high-performing and self-motivated individual as a Manufacturing Business Lead - HMM for Waste Optimization and Sanitation Optimization. This leader will define, build, and execute technical processes for HMM identification with a focus on Sanitation and Waste. The right candidate for this role will have a passion for generating new ways of working to generate value, an interest in working across manufacturing and our business teams with a desire to reducing costs, an ability to facilitating teams, and a strategic mindset with a high bias for action. The responsibilities in this role will provide a high level of exposure to Manufacturing and Innovation, Technology, Quality (ITQ) leaders, HMM leadership, and will accelerate your ability to navigate and influence our organization. The role will report functionally into the Sr Manager of HMM and will receive its direction directly from Manufacturing and ITQ leaders while working in an agile pod model. This leader will collaborate across Plant Leadership Teams, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain Teams, and our Processing/Packaging Teams. The role will be located in Minneapolis, supporting the manufacturing team, which has a culture of in-person collaboration. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Generate $5-10MM HMM through the leadership of Manufacturing technical savings opportunities via Sanitation Optimization and Overuse Develop a sustainable construct to convert ideas/opportunities into projects that are prioritized Provide project leadership to activate key workstreams in our internal plants to drive value over time Define Sanitation Optimization Value Flow Partner with technical resource to define a pipeline of opportunities in capacity constrained plants & a prioritization process with plant partners Work "boots on the ground" to ensure plant teams have what they need to vet the opportunities and execute the changes Provide project leadership/management for prioritized workstreams, leading them from discovery through execution Develop savings estimates & feasibility assessments Ensure proper entry of opportunities into systems, processes, and forums Define Overuse Value Flow Member of Overuse COE for manufacturing, providing project management for prioritized initiatives/workstreams Engage & Partner with cross-functional partners on historical Overuse "beliefs" to drive to greater value and optimization Build out the framework for who to include to understand the problems to solve and advance with DMAIC type process work Boots-on-the-ground partnership with plant teams, providing project leadership and organizational resourcing for execution Through partnership with System Engineers, understand current losses via Loss Trees and Loss Analysis data Lead Continuous Improvement work to define root cause and solution path forward Partner with Manufacturing HMM Pipeline Development Manager on advancing the Manaufacturing HMM Glidepath/long range plan workstreams Partner across all pillars to deliver highest value HMM priorities to identify pipeline opportunities & lead exploration, chartering, & operational execution MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree 5+ years of related experience: Operations, Logistics Operations, Supply Planning, etc. Build and exhibit cross-functional influence skills across virtual and in-person teams Knowledge of manufacturing measures, performance management, and fluency in Loss Trees (interpreting) Ability to create and execute a change management plan Desire to challenge assumptions, identify new opportunities, and create new "ways of working" Leading or facilitating people and teams Demonstrated navigating ambiguity and organization complexity Continuous improvement/innovation mindset PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Maturity and emotional resiliency to navigate through fast-paced situations Deep understanding of HMM strategy and tools ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $104700.00 - $157200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
