Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency Pharmacy Senior Director in Minneapolis, Minnesota
_SUMMARY:_
We are seeking aPharmacy Senior Director to join our team. This full time role will work days.
*Purpose of this position: *Provides overall strategic,administrative, and operational leadership for Hennepin Healthcare pharmacy services and medicationmanagement.Services include acute and community pharmacies, clinic- and infusion-based services, mail and specialty pharmacies, MTM services, pharmacy revenue management and the Regional Poison Center. Accountable for staffing and resource management, budget, legal and regulatory compliance, and oversight of programs. Coordinates with other departments and clinical areas to ensure organizational objectives are met and is responsible for the execution of organizational strategic and operational plans related to scope of the position.
_RESPONSIBILITIES:_
- Develops and implements pharmacy strategic initiatives and operating plans, which focus on optimized patient care and safety, and enhance cost effectiveness. Plans align with HHC priorities and strategies. Partners with senior leadership in strategic and departmental planning. Works collaboratively with pharmacy leadership team to ensure strategic and operational planning alignment, resource alignment and measurement and achievement of goals
- Translates organization’s vision and strategies to department level, mobilizes allocated resources to achieve outcomes and growth
- Establishes systems and processes that drive accountabilityforcustomer care, financial and/or operational outcomes. Develops systems to identify and measure key patient care, operational, employee and financial outcomes
- Works with pharmacy leadership team to develop and execute monitoring metrics for pharmacy and medication use and compliance, includingthecategories quality and safety, care delivery effectiveness (operational and clinical efficiencies), employee experience and financial vitality
- Responsible for pharmacy budget planning and processes; monitors for performance and variances to meet or exceed approved budget
- Provides leadership anddirectionto pharmacy team leadership and team members
- Oversees implementation of drug use initiatives and pharmacy caremanagementinitiatives across the pharmacy enterprise
- Responsible for acquisition and purchasing of quality drugs for HHS Pharmacy usage
- Assures medication storage, access and distribution meets patient care and regulatory requirements. Works with others in identifying and prioritizing informatics and automation initiatives
- Ensures implementation of and compliance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with standards and requirements of all accrediting, licensing, and governmental agencies pertaining topharmacy services, includingMinnesota Board of Pharmacy statues and regulations o Develops and maintains appropriate reports pharmacy records, reports, and patient information and profiles, as required by standards and policies
- Develops collaborative interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships, to assure partnerships and support effective, efficient, and safe operations and clinical processes
- Engages in regular communication with leadership acrossthesystem aboutthemedicationmanagementsystem performance needs. Leads efforts to drive evidence-based, cost effective, medication useinitiativesacross the continuum of care
- Facilitates and ensures compliance with humanresourcesprocesses and programs. Developstalent within theteam, including acquiring, engaging, and retaining team members
- Serves as the RPD for the Health System Pharmacy Administrative and Leadership residency program (HSPAL)
- Builds relationships within pharmacy leaders within the local, state, and national health care community, to partner on improvements within medication management
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
/Minimum Qualifications:/
- 7-10 years of progressive pharmacy management experience within retail and/or inpatient hospital pharmacy services
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of MN
/Preferred Qualifications:/
- Administrative residency
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Degree
- Completion of a master’s degree in pharmacy administration or business administration
- Experience with residency programs as a preceptor and RPD
- Active in pharmacy professional organizations
- Epic experience

- Proven ability to establish department work plans, goals, and manage to those objectives

- Strong analytical and PC skills
/License/Certifications:/
- **Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota
