General Mills Inc Principal Solutions Architect - SAP Platform (Finance) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

As a Principal Solution Architects, you will be part of our SAP Platform & Strategic Initiatives team. In this role you are responsible for guiding strategic thought leadership across our SAP ecosystem, including functional & technical design & architecture, coaching & mentoring broader D&T talent, and successful delivery of strategic initiatives. This position plays a significant role in the definition and implementation of our over-arching SAP S/4 solutions and applications strategy, including functional roadmaps, architecture, design and implementation for Finance solutions. This role performs work that is highly complex, varied in nature, and spans multiple functional areas. It also seeks to ensure optimum utilization of existing core platforms and their integration while considering and/or facilitating the justified deployment of new technologies in response to business requirements. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead or advise on Finance solutions roadmap and projects Understand financial business processes and requirements related to SAP solutions by engaging with business partners and SAP practitioners at enterprise level Conduct comparative research and recommend strategies with regards to SAP technologies to propose and implement solutions for business needs Assist in hiring SAP related resources, vendor selection, product selection, strategy related to SAP solutions Perform discovery projects by engaging through D&T with business units and SAP team members to find the best possible solutions for GMI Lead, consult or participate in end-to-end implementations while also engaging as a functional solutions architect in other parallel SAP projects Craft adaptable, comprehensive, and feasible solutions by creating necessary blueprint documents for functional requirements and technical specifications Lead, consult, review and/or participate in solution design, build, test and go live activities on SAP finance solutions implementations, rollouts, or upgrade projects Effectively delegate responsibilities to team members (within and outside our direct team), provide them with repeatable processes, and verify the quality of their work Learn and understand existing system landscape to be able to design solutions for efficient and effective integration of SAP systems with other business applications Review current standards and continuously revise to ensure best practices Serve as the conduit through D&T to enable businesses and technology REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or Business from an accredited institution or equivalent 15+ years of progressive SAP solutioning hands on experience leading up to architect level work. Deep expertise on one or more SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4 modules particularly on financial accounting (FI) and financial Controlling (CO) Experience on S/4 implementations with focus on specific finance areas, examples COPA, product costing, universal Journal, material ledger, new GL, SPL, asset accounting and/or FSCM and other S/4 capabilities. Functional and technical strategic thought leadership. Hands on experience with complex and large-scale SAP project implementations. Interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT Strong mentoring skills to elevate other team members within and outside of our GMI SAP Practice. Ability to see our SAP portfolio with both a deep and broad perspective. Expert knowledge in all aspects of designing, developing, consulting, leading and managing broader SAP and related ecosystem initiatives. Ability to convert business challenges into technical solutions. Time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple parallel activities. Collaborative nature with a strong focus on enabling team culture. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies Demonstrated ability to lead and collaboration with team members across multiple geographies Demonstrated ability to lead and collabor tion with 3rd party team members & vendors Strong and effective influencing skills Strong and effective problem-solving skills Willingness to work off business hours as needed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and experience managing financial integrations with SAP BW and SAP GRC (Access controls, risk management, etc) Knowledge of required SAP localizations for the geographies where GMI has business operation (Europe, Brazil, Asian countries). Waterfall and agile project management expertise Experience using integration tools (ex Webmethods, APIs technologies, etc) Experience in automated testing tools and methodologies. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $144000.00 - $240200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
