Job Summary The Product Manager, Global IT Racks & Containment gathers and analyzes customer needs, evaluates market and regulatory trends, develops new product roadmaps and strategy, leads presales support, and works collaboratively with others to drive profitable growth and innovation. This position is responsible for the global IT Rack offerings, working with regional and functional teams to achieve financial objectives. The Offering Manager exercises supervision in terms of priorities, costs, methods, and resourcing in a global, matrixed environment. The Global Edge Systems business helps Customers solve the increasingly significant challenge of Digital Continuity for application users across the world, leveraging a mix of technology leadership, global company scale, regional familiarity, and a proficiency for understanding the Customer. Digital Continuity solutions include: * Critical infrastructure hardware [power, cooling, enclosures, ancillary], software, & services enabling the continuous functionality of IT assets running digital applications across cloud, enterprise, industry, and communications spaces. * Deployments are anchored in two broad segments: Edge Rack Systems, and Data Center Rack Systems Customers include: * End users and technology service providers, ranging from Fortune 10 global companies to small businesses, across verticals and government entities. * Channel Partners, from server OEMs to IT & Electrical Distributors, Resellers, and Managed Service Providers. Responsibilities: * Responsibility for the financial performance of the IT Rack & Containment offerings globally, with appropriate decision and resource allocation rights to enable success in a matrixed global environment. * Support of a solutions-strategy, where the IT Rack & Containment serve as the 'delivery structure' for advanced power, thermal, and management technologies and associated services. * Ownership of the product lifecycle management function for IT Rack & Containment offerings globally, including hardware, software, and service, from new product development, through growth and sunset / divestiture. * Coordination with peers to drive innovation, development, and delivery of IT Rack & Containment offerings, including specializations for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services, Edge Computing, and customized applications. * Enablement of global routes to market to facilitate commercial success, accentuating fit into Channel Partners' business models. * Enablement of supply bases for competitive fulfillment across all business regions, globally. * Competitive assessment in the relevant market space, including technology and market partnership opportunities. * Identification of emerging market opportunities rooted in technology applications, increasingly in settings facilitating cloud, colocation, and communications applications, globally. * Execution and guidance of primary and secondary market research, including direct interfacing with Customer decision-makers & value chain stakeholders, acquiring unfiltered Voice-of-Customer. * Comprehensive market requirements development for IT Rack & Containment technologies, specialized for prioritized vertical and application segments, rooted in value drivers that are business outcome based. * Facilitation of tools development, content creation, and data management enabling Customers, Partners, and internal / external stakeholders as appropriate to grow Vertiv IT solutions revenue and profitability. * Achievement of positioning as a 'trusted adviser' to customers & channel partners relevant to the target segments. * Influence of and coordination with peer leaders and teams in different regions and functions globally, to provide the optimal Customer experience globally. * Lead and enable engagement with strategic customers and segments, cooperatively addressing problems in deploying and managing IT assets, delivering new methods, technologies, and capabilities that do not exist in the m rket today. * Directly elicit face-to-face customer feedback (voice of customer), through direct physical interaction with the systems being optimized for their specific use cases. * Directly drive and facilitate technical input for new product development, at the product & system level * Lead and enable identification, prototyping, and validation of design improvements at the product and system level that improve performance across the system life cycle - including configuration, logistics, packaging, assembly, commissioning, operation, and end-of-life support . * Directly contribute to the global product and solutions business strategies at the executive level Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering or product marketing degree preferred, but not required * MBA beneficial but not required * 3+ years related experience; with product or industry experience preferred * English fluency required, written and spoken; other language(s) highly valued * Team leadership and experience in a global product & customer environment highly valued * Ability to directly interface with Customers, at the executive and technical levels, required The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
