HealthPartners Professional Coding Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Analyst, Professional Coding to join our team! Position Summary: This is a highly visible role as a professional coding expert. You will advise PNHS leaders, coding staff, and physicians about professional coding standards, guidelines, and best practices to meet goals for receivables and accurate revenue capture and population risk score in compliance with regulatory requirements and the transition to ICD-10. You will help build a progressive culture to support population health management and accountable care. You must be a highly skilled and experienced coder who can independently research and respond to complex coding questions for all specialty areas represented at PN. This includes all Primary Care and Medical and Surgical Specialties. You will work with coding leadership, coding staff, patient financial services, and compliance, as well as physicians and clinic managers to maintain accurate coding practices. You will conduct coding quality reviews for coding staff and provide education when appropriate. You will serve as a mentor who displays leader behaviors. You will collaborate with other HealthPartners coding and compliance teams to help ensure consistent and compliant coding practices across the organization. Required Qualifications: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Minimum of five years of professional coding experience including inpatient and outpatient surgical coding. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Must possess current AHIMA or AAPC certification in coding (RHIT, CCS-P, CCS, CPC are preferred certifications) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Operates personal computer to access medical records and billed charges. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Build Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables for reporting and data analysis. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word functionality. Preferred Qualifications: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: ICD-10 Coding knowledge and experience with Epic application is preferred. Leadership experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Epic experience preferred.
