Apogee Enterprises Inc. Position Summary The Program Director of Talent Management is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance performance management, employee development, engagement, and retention across the organization. This role focuses on building robust processes around goal setting, engagement, performance management, employee development, and fostering a culture of continuous growth. The Program Director will collaborate with senior leaders to align talent initiatives with business objectives, ensuring Apogee's workforce remains a competitive advantage in achieving its strategic goals. Responsibilities Talent Strategy Development Develop and implement a talent management strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, values, and long-term vision. Collaborate with leaders and Human Resources to understand workforce needs and define priorities. Conduct needs analysis, listening to the voice of the customer (VOC), to ensure our talent management processes meet our team's needs. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive in retaining and developing top talent. Workforce Planning and Succession Management Lead the development and execution of succession planning strategies, identifying and preparing high-potential employees for critical roles. Partner with leadership, HR, and L&D to ensure readiness and pipeline for future organizational needs. Performance Management Design, implement, and refine performance management processes to ensure clear goals, meaningful feedback, and opportunities for growth. Train and support managers in effective performance management practices, including coaching and developmental feedback. Create a positive user experience for our managers and employees. Monitor organizational performance trends and recommend improvements to processes and tools. Leadership and Employee Development Partner with leaders, L&D, and Human Resources to create processes to grow talent within the organization. Leverage Workday and other tools to help leaders have meaningful development conversations with their team members Collaborate with L&D teams to streamline the individual development plan process Employee Engagement and Retention Create and lead initiatives to measure and improve employee engagement and satisfaction. Act as a champion for the organization's culture, ensuring it reflects core values and drives employee commitment. Analyze retention trends and implement strategies to address areas of concern. Leverage Workday, Peakon, and other tools to analyze our workforce and identify opportunities to improve engagement, turnover, and other critical measures. Metrics and Continuous Improvement Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for talent management programs to assess impact and ROI. Use data-driven insights to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in talent practices. Provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership. Experience & Skills Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). 7+ years of experience in talent management, organizational development, or related areas. Proven expertise in designing and executing talent development and succession planning strategies. Required Skills: Strong understanding of succession planning, performance management, and leadership development. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with HR technology and talent management systems. Workday preferred. Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making. Preferred Skills: SHRM-CP/SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certifications. Knowledge of industry best practices in talent development and organizational effectiveness.
