Establishes new processes and quality requirements as well as facilitates maintenance of current quality systems and subsystems. Responsibilities Quality Improvement: Leader or team member of quality improvement projects. Support engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance. Analyze data to prioritize, lead or coach problem solving or continuous improvement projects utilizing quality engineering tools and six sigma tools following the DMAIC methodology. Lead in development and maintenance of critical quality systems and subsystems and system changes; utilize quality tools such as risk assessments, SPC, RCA and value stream mapping. Act as participant or lead on CAPA investigations. Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system. Quality Risk Management: Implement and lead quality risk management program. Conduct process capability analysis and plan or lead variation reduction activities. Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality and use information for dissemination of reports to manufacturing personnel and management. Assist in development and maintenance of risk assessments. Participate in internal/external quality system and process audits. Project/Process Validation: Ensure validation and qualification activities of products, processes, methods, facilities, utilities, and equipment comply with internal requirements and applicable regulations and standards. The ability to be creative and flexible while maintaining compliance will be critical to success in this position. Perform validations (IQ, OQ, PQ, MSA) by creating and executing protocols. Compile statistical data and write narrative reports summarizing quality findings. ABOUT YOU BA/BS Degree in an Engineering/Science field or equivalent experience. Minimum one year working in a quality system. Experience related to system design and quality engineering, calibration and validation is expected. Experience to include increasing responsibility in development, conduct and oversight of validation, quality process/method optimization and quality process analysis and improvement. Experience in development and use of tools such as: FMEA risk assessments, design control analysis, SPC, DMAIC, Root Cause, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping. Understanding and knowledge of a broad set of regulations and standards (IPEC, FDA, SQF, ISO, etc.) Ability to anticipate problems, investigate and identify solutions in a variety of situations. Experience in assembling, managing and leading effective multi-disciplinary teams. Experience related to quality assurance with exposure to GMP environment is strongly preferred. Competencies with Microsoft Office Suite applications, SPC, Adobe Suite and other database applications at intermediate to advanced level preferred. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use ladders or stairs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
