Bio-Techne Laboratory Assistant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Positions Summary:

This position will require attention to details, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate across departments. The expectation of this role is to assist lab personnel with proof reading, data entry, inventory control and maintain a clean and organized lab setting. This position will adhere to safety regulations and lab standard operating procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proof documents, labels, and assays sheets.

  • Track and maintain inventory of reagents.

  • Assist with ordering of lab supplies.

  • Receive and document incoming shipments.

  • Data entry of QC, assay data, and internal controls values.

  • Dispose of biohazard waste, cardboard, and recycling.

  • Clean laboratory glassware and maintain proper storage.

  • Flexibility to work on multiple tasks and as priorities shift.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks.

  • Work and communicate with other departments.

  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Position requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of laboratory safety standards and practices.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete work in an efficient manner.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate across departments, both verbally and written.

  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform with accuracy.

  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.).

  • Data entry skills, 10 Key proficient.

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
