Deliver consistent results across multiple projects. -Assist with non-human subject to ensure completion of vital research tasks in established timelines -Ensure upload, duplication, and ease of access of collected data by relevant stakeholders -Complete non-human subject checks checks in coordination with senior researchers and assist with with procedures/care as needed to support experiments -Pre-process data using a multiplicity of software packages for later analysis 20% Research Infrastructure Support -Using hard programming and/or engineering skills, assist researchers in developing more efficient research infrastructure. -Use CAD software to machine or 3D print miscellany -Improve MATLAB analysis code -Act as an SME on improving research design and implementation within knowledge base 10% Publications, Conferences, Posters -Prepare graphics, tables, charts, or other writings for publication in academic journals or as posters in concert with senior researchers. Qualifications Required Qualifications: -BA/BS in neuroscience, BME, ME, ECE or similar field with at least two years experience, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 6 years -Experience with Solidworks and MATLAB or similar software -Effective communicator both verbally and in writing. -Ability to follow written SOPs and follow-through on complex tasks and timelines Preferred Qualifications: -Familiarity with the pathology and treatment of Parkinson's disease -Hands-on experience working with research animals -Experience collecting electro/neurophysiological data from an animal population -Experience with 3D printing or machining for research. About the Department The Neuromodulation Research Center (NMRC) seeks an experienced and driven researcher to join its interdisciplinary team working in the University of Minnesota Department of Neurology. This position will support the NMRC's ongoing research in deep brain stimulation (DBS) to provide therapeutic relief for those suffering with movement disorders: chiefly, Parkinson's disease. The successful candidate will collect electrophysiological data from behaving NHP in support of a number of ongoing projects. That person will deploy their expansive skill sets to make improvements to research infrastructure and process elicited data for ready analysis by senior researchers.
