Senior Accountant Wanted at a Leading Investment Management Firm!

We are working with a fast-paced Investment Management firm located in the Twin Cities, presently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join their team.

In this pivotal role, you'll exclusively handle the accounting, finance, tax, and reporting activities for certain institutional funds. Working closely with the Assistant Controller, you'll assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, manage interactions with auditors, and help maintain solid relationships with large lending institutions.

Required Skills:

  • CPA/CMA designation, or MBA degree highly preferred

  • 3-5 years accounting experience

  • Strength in Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge in SQL and Tableau considered a plus

  • Proficiency in Residential Mortgage Loan/REO accounting and private equity fund accounting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely in the financial statement close process

  • Assist with audit and tax requests

  • Maintain strict adherence to the firms documented policies and procedures

  • Reconciliation of bank accounts

  • Ability to handle ad hoc investor queries

This role currently has the potential to quickly diversify in its responsibilities and will provide substantial exposure to different areas of the business, including interactions with multiple third-party vendors. As such, we are seeking a candidate who is both inquisitive and a self-starter, capable of rapidly adapting to an evolving set of roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of three years of experience with a mix of public and financial services industry experience

• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation is crucial for this role.

• Must have prior experience in Bank Reconciliations and Account Reconciliation.

• Knowledge and understanding of the Financial Services industry are essential.

• Must have a strong background in Financial Reporting to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements.

• Familiarity with Internal Control procedures and their implementation in a business environment is required.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for this role.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.

• Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically are essential.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are crucial for this role.

• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
