City Of Minneapolis-Human Resources Senior Executive Assistant to Police Chief in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Description The Senior Executive Assistant supports the Police Chief and Executive Team by managing administrative functions, serving as the primary point of contact, and coordinating work with internal and external stakeholders. This role also involves collaborating on departmental strategy, budget management, and ensuring seamless operations with professionalism and strong organizational skills. Salary The anticipated salary for this position is $85,550.00 - 100,097.00/ annually, depending on qualifications. Work location This position is onsite only * This position is only available for current MPD employees Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide comprehensive support to the Chief and ensure a professional, responsive, and effective experience for all contacts. Manage the Chief's calendar, schedule, and daily engagements while troubleshooting conflicts and prioritizing inquiries. Research, prioritize, and follow up on sensitive or confidential issues addressed to the Chief, determining appropriate referrals or responses. Facilitate smooth communication between the Chief's office and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining credibility, confidentiality, and trust. Answer and route phone calls, mail, and emails, handling a broad range of information dissemination. Draft correspondence, reports, and presentations to support the Chief's leadership. Organize and manage meetings, travel, conferences, and departmental activities, including logistics and materials preparation. Record and distribute meeting notes, agendas, and action items accurately. Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations. Manage documentation and data to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies. Process expense reports, track and reconcile expenses, and manage budget-related tasks. Collaborate on strategic planning efforts, conducting research and analysis as needed. Support special projects and initiatives with organizational impact. Build and maintain relationships crucial to organizational success. WORKING CONDITIONS: Regular Indoor Office environment. Required Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Safety or related field MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Five years of related experience EQUIVALENCY An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: None Selection Process The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience and/or an oral examination (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. The City of Minneapolis Human Resources Department reserves the right to limit the number in any phase of the selection process. Eligible List Statement The names of applicants who meet minimum qualification and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire [three] months after it has been established. Interview Selection The hiring authority reserves the right to determine the maximum number of candidates to interview from the established eligible list. If the hiring authority decides to interview other than by exam score order, they may select additional people to interview based on a candidate's education or experience related to the field, work history, or skills uniquely related to the operational needs of the position.
