This is a non-tenured, annually renewable, academic-administrative appointment that reports to the Director of the Technological Leadership Institute (TLI). The appointment percentage may range between 75%-100%. Activities of the Senior Fellow/Gemini Chair holder center on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship in both established firms and new ventures. Teaching / co-teaching expectations are 4 credits per semester related to the Management of Technology undergraduate minor, or other graduate programs offered by TLI. The Gemini Chair will serve as an outreach and program planning and development lead with College of Science and Engineering (CSE) departments interested in supplementing their technical education with innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization training. Additional entrepreneurship responsibilities include an annual Makeathon, coordinating a summer accelerator program, mentoring student innovators, participating in the Great Lakes I-Corps hub, and supporting other entrepreneurship programs such as local business plan competitions, and pitching competitions. As time permits, the Senior Fellow/Gemini Chair will participate in TLI's other academic efforts, including: Guest lectures on campus Lecturing on innovation in TLI's professional programs Advising on MS capstone projects Supporting TLI's mission through professional interaction with the larger technology-intensive community in Minnesota and beyond. Qualifications Successful candidates for this position will have a demonstrated track record of technology leadership in established companies and/or startup ventures. Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and project management skills are required, along with unquestioned integrity and professionalism. Experience in teaching, training and/or developing technical or scientific professionals is highly desirable. Required: A Master's degree in an engineering, science, business or management discipline A minimum 15 years of technical, managerial, and/or senior leadership experience in entrepreneurship and/or corporate intrapreneurship. Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and project management skills are critical, along with unquestioned integrity and professionalism. Preferred: Industry experience training and/or developing technical or scientific professionals. Prior college-level teaching or professional training and development experience in a leadership, technical, or management discipline. Ph.D. degree in an engineering, science, or business discipline.
