We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to join us in providing transformative learning experiences. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a vital role in the academic development and success of our students. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative educator who is passionate about teaching and capable of inspiring students in their respective fields. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is an annual, renewable position which is a full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month appointment starting August 26, 2024. The responsibilities of these positions include: Teaching 24 credits over the nine-month academic year. Participating in efforts to evaluate and improve the accounting curriculum. Advising students regarding course work and career interests. Additional teaching with added compensation might be available for: Summer teaching. Teaching in Carlson's international programs. Teaching in Carlson's Executive Education Center programs. Teaching duties will consist of undergraduate and master's degree accounting courses, offered in both large lecture and smaller case discussion formats. The relevant courses are offered in Carlson's day, evening, and weekend degree programs in the Twin Cities. * The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position * Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree, preferably in accounting plus 15 years of related industry and/or academic experience, or a terminal degree plus 10 years of related industry and/or academic experience. About the Department The Accounting Department at the Carlson School of Management consists of 10 tenure-track faculty members and eight full-time senior lecturers committed to excellence in teaching and research. The Carlson School Department of Accounting offers a stimulating learning environment with outstanding synergies across paradigms. Students in accounting develop an understanding of accounting in its relationship to other disciplines such as economics, finance, psychology, and sociology. Some of the most respected scholars and researchers in accounting serve as faculty members in our department and for the program. Current faculty research covers such diverse areas as information economics, decision-making processes, market efficiency, security valuation, financial disclosures, and accounting regulations.
