The department of Information and Decision Sciences is seeking applicants for two full-time, annually renewable non-tenure track teaching positions. The Department has 17 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 5 full-time instructional faculty. The Department teaches courses both at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as performs research in all areas of the information systems discipline including Information Technology (IT) / Information Systems (IS) in organizations, Economics of IS, Design and Management of Systems, Individual and Organizational Decision Support, Knowledge Management, Social Media, and Business Analytics. For more information, please visit the . Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Lecturer position is responsible for teaching 24 credits during a 9-month academic year (September - May). The teaching assignments could be at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of information systems and business analytics. This position will teach multiple sections of a course, and the candidate should have the ability to teach a combination of courses. Be able to teach courses in various modalities, including in-person courses and remote/online courses. Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technologies to enhance student learning outcomes. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values diversity and encourages active student participation. Includes class preparation, instruction, keeping office hours, record-keeping and grading, and overseeing teaching assistants, as needed and available. Duties also include various service appointments on departmental and/or collegiate committees to represent the program, providing advice to undergraduate and graduate students (e.g., as part of the students' independent studies or in other settings), and course coordination across multiple sections. This is a non-tenure track Academic Professional/Administrative position for a nine month academic year. The initial appointment will be from August 26, 2024 through May 25, 2025. Subsequent renewals, if any, will be on a nine month academic calendar, dependent upon annual performance reviews and funding availability. Limited teaching during the summer may be available on an overload basis. The e ployer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position Qualifications Essential Qualifications Teaching or training experience with a record of instructional effectiveness Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Quantitative Psychology, or a related field (MBA, MSBA, MS etc.), and 15 years of related industry and/or academic experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience in higher education with a record of strong student evaluations of teaching. Ph.D. degree (terminal degree) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Quantitative Psychology, or a related field, and 10 years of related industry and/or academic experience. Knowledge of current pedagogical practices and willingness to integrate technology into teaching.
