Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves managing the financial operations of our two operating subsidiaries and requires a strong understanding of financial principles, experience with ERP and accounting systems, and expertise in cost accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements

• Collaborate with the Controllers to ensure accurate and timely month-end close

• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

• Provide assistance and support with invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes

• Work with the Controllers to understand, use, and improve our accounting system controls and applications

• Monitor and maintain existing accounting systems; identifying, troubleshooting, and defining issues as they arise

• Assist with research and compliance with all sales tax regulations and requirements

• Coordinate with external tax advisors to stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations

• Oversee the preparation and submission of sales tax returns in a timely and accurate manner

• Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure accurate allocation of costs to individual jobs

• Analyze job cost data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements

• Monitor and manage cash flow related to postage expenses

• Provide financial analysis on special projects and initiatives. Requirements • Must hold the title of Sr. Accountant or equivalent for at least 3 years.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Knowledge and experience using NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software for accounting tasks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
