Job Description: Global client and industry leader is looking for a Finance and Accounting manager with Supply chain experience for a remote contract. This role will oversee supply chain accounting and controls for the $2+ Billion-dollar Pet Segment of our client. You will partner with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics and Engineering Functions and the Finance Organization to maintain a well-controlled environment producing accurate external financial statements in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Additionally, this role provides accounting and technical guidance to the supply chain business partners, evaluates business transactions against changing accounting and regulatory rules, and supports our supply chain financial reporting processes. This role is uniquely positioned to gain perspective on the processes and decisions supporting our client's complex supply chain and resulting market presence. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership * Provide accounting expertise and business partnership across the Pet Segment Supply Chain organization. Focus areas include but are not limited to inventory (including LIFO), supplier financing, leases, fixed assets, and cost accounting. * Collaborate with other Pet functions to improve the processes that interact with accounting and improve results through strong relationships. * Communicate with senior leadership to drive the accuracy of financial results, functional excellence, and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization. * Build functional excellence in accounting capability across the Supply Chain Organization at Pet and ensure balance between GAO strategy and business needs. Accounting & Controls Excellence * Follow and comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and current financial legislation for financial results and ultimate financial statement preparation. * Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures, controls and processes. Develop sustainable solutions for all identified control gaps and ensure they are implemented in a manner consistent with global standard processes. * Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, and ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. * Participate in the GAO Supply Chain Accounting & Control Global Community of Practice. * Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with SEC and US GAAP requirements. * Effectively communicate with internal and external auditors. * Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license * Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration * 5-7 years of experience in accounting and controls * Proficiency in and a ility to navigate between multiple technologies including Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.).
