Description The Division of Epidemiology and Community Health Promotion in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota seeks a 100% (negotiable down to 80%) time Implementation Project Manager Statewide HIV Conference for the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), Minnesota and Iowa site. This position is based in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area with WFH arrangements possible, and possibility of extension of appointment, pending grant support and satisfactory performance. The Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center is a federally-funded training center, providing AIDS and HIV clinical training and support to health care professionals. MATEC has built connections with the top HIV clinicians and researchers in our region to offer health care professionals targeted training and direct access to expert information. We seek to improve workforce capacity for the HIV healthcare professionals in Minnesota and Iowa, and by doing so, improving care for people living with HIV. We are part of a national network of AIDS Education and Training Centers, serving all states and territories and including four supporting national centers. Duties/Responsibilities Project Management/Implementation and Supervision 87% Serve as main point of contact and lead the planning and delivery of a statewide conference Work includes: Serve as a liaison with internal and external contacts with regard to the Statewide HIV Conference Monitor and manage conference budget, report on progress as directed by the Project Director and monitor conference spending and financial accounts Identify, design, plan, and facilitate a Statewide HIV Conference which includes educational opportunities for health care and social service providers as well as community stakeholders (Activities could include: didactic trainings, interactive trainings, technical assistance, consultations, case presentations, etc.) Work closely with the Project Director and supervise the conference team members and processes including project managers and clinical advisors and faculty to design, revise, implement, expand, adapt, evaluate, report, and disseminate tailored workforce development programming for healthcare professionals Position will conduct day-to-day and overall management of the projects with the intent to meet project goals and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders Administrative 3% Grant reporting, project tracking, needs assessments, evaluation, accounting paperwork, data entry/maintenance, etc. Travel 10% Travel as needed for in-person meetings and trainings. All program staff work remotely and travel to in-person training events and meetings. Qualifications Required: BA/BS plus at least 6 years of experience or advanced degree with 4 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work independen ly and as a part of a team and supervise an outcome-oriented project area with complex deliverables Comfort with and sensitivity to working with many cultures and communities including people living with HIV, youth, men who have sex with men, native populations, rural populations, etc. Ability to facilitate group discussions among diverse stakeholders and prepare logistics for training events Innovative perspective with competency in independent problem solving that encompasses logistics and day-to-day problems while also analyzing and strategizing more complex structural challenges Professional communication style, with excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects Competency in basic computer skills (Microsoft office suite, Google drive, Qualtrics/other survey design software, Zoom, Asana, and other virtual meeting platforms, apps, etc.). Part of application process may require testing competency in these computer skills. Personal cell phone that can be used as needed for work purposes Ability to maintain a somewhat flexible work schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours to meet the program participant needs and availability Valid driver's license and personal vehicle to be used for work purposes (project will reimburse for gas/mileage) Preferred: MPH or Master's Degree in a related field Experience with grant-based employment focused on project management of a high-visibility project with specific deliverables Skillsets could include: developing and following work plans, timelines, deliverables, including planning and execution along with reporting requirements and federal financial policies and procedures Complex communication with stakeholders and partners and with administrative leadership, clinical leadership, and all health care providers and staff on a clinical team Previous experience with remote project management related to health/public health and infectious disease and/or HIV/AIDS an extra plus deal candidates will have experience in curriculum development and the process of revision of conference materials and organizing aimed at clinical and systems change that is partially guided by clinical and implementation guidelines for the healthcare environment Are you excited about this job and meet the required qualifications, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every preferred qualification?
