This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN office. As a Transportation Planner, you would be responsible for working on a variety of complex transportation planning projects and collaborate with a diverse group of planners, engineers, and designers to explore creative outcomes for our clients and community. Responsibilities: Contributing to the development of planning documents, including multimodal corridor studies, transportation plans, bicycle and pedestrian plans, comprehensive plans, and small area plans. Managing projects and leading the completion of various tasks, including delegation to other team members and review of draft materials. Supporting project pursuit efforts, including the development of proposal content, interview preparation, and interview participation. Gathering and analyzing a variety of demographic and existing conditions information to understand the current state of a project area or location to inform the process. Collaborating with the team to support the development and refinement of analysis processes and tools to inform our planning process. Execution of technical analysis and report documentation that highlights core project activities in a usable format for the intended audience. Preparing GIS maps and other graphics to visually represent plan outcomes in an easy-to-read format. Participating in and contributing to project engagement activities with the public or project team. Supporting an open and inclusive planning process. Providing creative and resilient solutions and recommendations for our clients. Collaborating with a broad team of planners, engineers, and designers to explore and identify solutions and recommendations. Qualifications: Interest in meaningful and inclusive planning processes and outcomes. Bachelor or master's degree in transportation planning, urban/regional planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, or related field. 4 or more years of experience in multimodal transportation planning or traffic engineering. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Collaborative and enthusiastic attitude. Good analytical and critical thinking skills. Shows initiative in taking leadership roles on projects. Experience leading the production of reports/plans for public comprehension. Project or major task management experience. Ability to adapt project approach to unique clients and situations. Experience in engaging and working with the publ c and community stakeholders. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
