Job Title: Travel CNC Machinist

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN LAFAYETTE INDIANA AND IS A TRAVEL POSITION WITH PER DIEM.

Job Description

As a CNC Machinist, you will use lifting devices such as overhead cranes to move large parts, utilizing chains and straps to move material. Cycle times vary from 6 minutes to 12 hours depending on the machine being run. You will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, fabricate and modify parts to make or repair tools or machines, calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and quality tools, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines, monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process, and measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Additionally, you will set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
