University of St. Thomas Post-Doctoral Fellow - Interprofessional Center in Minneapolis & St. Paul, Minnesota
OVERVIEW
The postdoctoral fellow position at the Interprofessional Center (IPC) combines aspects of advanced psychological practice, provision of clinical supervision, program development, interprofessional education, and engagement in college level committee work. Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow supports the instructional needs of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology by teaching two 3-credit MA level courses under the supervision of an established instructor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP). Selection of this course would be based on the candidate’s developing area of expertise in combination with the needs of GSPP. The term of employment for this position would be 1 year, typically beginning late August. Students who have graduated from an APA PsyD or PhD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology require 2,000 hours of supervised practice as part of application to the Minnesota Board of Psychology prior to licensure. Postdoctoral fellows will be compensated financially for their work and will also receive required supervision (i.e., two hours of supervision with a doctoral level psychologist per week) as they work towards licensure in the field of psychology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct Counseling services:The IPC Postdoctoral Fellow would maintain a small individual caseload (7-10) of clients for individual therapy and/or psychological assessment. The IPC Postdoctoral Fellow would be expected to assist with complex or high risk clients as needed and participate in screening for new clients.
Clinical Supervision (under the supervision of a licensed psychologist):The Postdoctoral Fellow would provide direct clinical supervision to MA and/or PsyD students completing their practicum training through the IPC in both individual and group formats. A licensed psychologist would provide the IPC Postdoctoral Fellow with individual supervision of their provision of supervision (1 hour weekly) to aid in developing their clinical supervision competence.
Teaching:Throughout the course of the postdoctoral year at the IPC, the Postdoctoral Fellow might be asked to prepare and present didactic presentations or specialty trainings to students and/or interprofessional audiences related to topics in psychology/counseling or other areas of expertise. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also serve as the primary adjunct instructor (under the supervision of an established instructor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology) for two 3 credit MA courses in the GSPP program. Selection of this course will be consistent with the candidate’s developing area of expertise.
College level committee involvement:The IPC Postdoctoral Fellow will serve as part of the MFCOH Interprofessional Education Committee. Participation on this committee supports the fellow’s involvement in continuous interprofessional program development and special events/educational offerings through IPC benefitting MFCOH students in multiple disciplines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Appropriate candidates will have the following:
Completed a PsyD or PhD in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
Experience in individual psychotherapy, intake assessments, diagnostic interviewing, and integrated report writing
Completed doctoral level course in clinical supervision
Completion of APA Accredited Internship
Preferred Qualifications
Supervised clinical supervision experience not required but preferred
Teaching experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge:Excellent technology skills with aptitude and skill using Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Banner, Canvas, and electronic medical record software. Must be knowledgeable of, APA ethical principles and guidelines and clinical supervision. Knowledge multicultural orientations and processes for enhancing psychological and cultural safety are preferred.
Skills:Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with all constituents. Must be able to multi-task, work independently, and engage others, both internal and external, in collaboration. Clinical practice, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Experience with teaching secondary or postsecondary students preferred.
Abilities:Must be able to able to plan, organize, document, and have excellent follow through. Must be able to receive and give feedback in a timely manner. Must have the ability to respond effectively & respectfully to people of diverse cultures.
