Alerus Financial Loan Servicing Specialist II - Mortgage in Minnetonka, Minnesota

Description Position Summary: The Loan Servicing Specialist, II is responsible for booking and servicing all types of loans, including commercial and consumer. This position will have a broad knowledge on loan functions, regulatory requirements along with performing the due diligence needed to ensure complete and accurate system processing. This position will maintain a client focus to deliver a superior client experience. Essential Responsibilities: Job Function 1: Process Support - 50% Responsible for the loan booking process to the core system, includes new, renewals, or extensions. Ensure core system integrity by reviewing loans for accuracy post-booking and various reports. Supports new and existing consumer and commercial loan processing including mortgage, lease, floor plan and purchased and sold participations. Review loan document packages for completeness and accuracy. Collaborate with Consumer Loan Documentation and Credit Administration to ensure loan is booked accurately. Process loan payments and fund disbursements via all payment channels. Monitor inboxes and perform various loan maintenance, payoff quotes and reports. Maintain loan collateral files. Complete and maintain tracking items for, but not limited to, UCC Filings and continuations, lien perfection, insurance processing and filing of mortgages. Responsible for paid loan processing, which includes lien releases and mortgage satisfactions. Assist internal departments and external clients with loan servicing related processing inquiries. Assist in identifying and researching exceptions. Handle time-sensitive or moderately complex issues and, if needed, collaborate with the senior or supervisor to resolve. Participate in implementation of upgrades or enhancements to current systems. Maintain specialized processes as assigned by the supervisor. Additional duties as assigned. Job Function 2: Team Support - 25% Provide primary and backup coverage on processes, as needed. Create, update, and maintain written procedures in Alerus procedure (R&R) database. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance the client experience and build scale. Ability to resolve problems with minimal guidance and make general (low) operational escalation decisions in the absence of the supervisor or manager. Assist with team, loan, or company-wide projects, as required. Participate in team meetings by providing insight, contributions, and feedback. Broad knowledge on loan systems, processes, or regulations. Job Function 3: Professional & Personal Development - 15% Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all systems & processes that pertain to the position. Demonstrate and maintain compliance, legal and policy knowledge of required regulations. Actively pursue continuing education, reading, and self-development to enhance skills. Complete regulation, compliance, and additional training as assigned. Build solid working relationships with team members across the organization. Emerging expert in utilizing and analyzing core systems and data entry definitions. Job Function 4: Vendor and Process Management - 10% Provide system administration support on one or more systems. Communicate system updates and outages, analyze the documentation, and propose process changes. Assist in implementation of upgrades or enhancements to current systems. Provide support for new system projects, department initiatives, team activities and audits. Develop and maintain specialized processes as assigned by the supervisor. Position Requirements: Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience in the financial industry. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in loan operations. High level of commitment to accuracy and detail. Demonstrate the ability to manage high volume, time sensitive transactions and situations. Ability to carry out the work of loan programs and projects, to include availability to work after hours to support business needs. Personal C aracteristics: Positive client-centric attitude. Physical Demands - Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation: Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment. Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day. Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs. Will spend most of time in an indoor environment. Ability to work outside of normal business hours for testing and project work as needed.
