Choice Hotels, one of the world's largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity within the Managed Hotel Department as the Accounting Manager - Managed Hotels Finance.This role will oversee the general ledger functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will maintain financial reporting integrity and accounting policies, and lead accounts payable functions, ensuring timely invoice payments and fraud prevention for Choice Hotels 13 Owned and Managed Hotels. #MakeItYourChoice. Organization: This role reports into the Director, Managed Hotels Finance and is a management position with a small team of direct reports. Location: This role is flexible to house out of one of our Corporate offices in North Bethesda, MD, Scottsdale, AZ, Minneapolis MN, or remotely within the US. Responsibilities: (45%) Oversee month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting. Coordinate the close process and supervise staff accountants. (20%) Ensures all balance sheet reconciliations are completed on time and all reconciling items are properly reviewed, researched and resolved. Provides financial and procedural support to all our Managed Hotels. (15%) Responsible for the timely payment of invoices for all our Managed Hotels. Performs daily banking activities, including ACH and wire payments. Oversees the billing of airline accounts receivable for one of our Managed Hotels. (10%) Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, including updating and adherence to critical controls and participation in testing by internal and external audit staff. (5%) Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation. Apply accounting principles and standardize hotel processes. Provide audit documentation and support. (5%) Prepares other ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management. Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure all necessary deliverables are received by their deadline. Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree, Accounting or Finance 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience Decision making, organization, time management, financial analysis, innovative problem solving, business communications, intermediate Excel functionality Salary Range The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Hotel Management Incentive Plan (HMIP). Pay ranges listed are for this position and are what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
