Providence Manager Sterile Processing in Missoula, Montana

Manager Sterile Processing, St Patrick Hospital-Broadway Bldg-Missoula MT

Under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services, assumes accountability for the human resource and operational management of the Sterile Processing Department. Responsible for the oversite related to cleaning, assembling, wrapping, and sterilization of medical and surgical instrumentation, and case cart assembly following AAMI, AORN, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and CDC standards and/or other regulatory guidelines. She/he/They will have a comprehensive understanding and competent skill level in Sterile Processing principles. The Manager is accountable for the selection and evaluation of department staff. The Manager assists with measurement of key performance indicators ( KPI) making sure that they are met daily. As a member of the Surgical Services management team, applies leadership skills when serving as a representative on multidisciplinary committees, Perioperative Committees, appointed task force committees and Patient Safety Committee.

Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Surgical Services, the Manager, Sterile Processing is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Sterile Processing Department and satellite departments as assigned. The Manager, Sterile Processing directs, oversees and participates in performing a variety of tasks related to cleaning, assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing of medical and surgical instrumentation, and case cart assembly following AAMI, AORN, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and CDC standards and/or other regulatory guidelines.

The Manager, Sterile Processing is responsible for the department's Human Resource Management, Professional Growth & Development, Fiscal success, Quality & Performance metrics; Supporting the Mission, Vision, & Values of Saint Patrick Hospital and other duties as assigned. Must be able to competently complete all tasks within the department and assist the SPD team in support of patient care departments.

Shift Details:

  • Full time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, Day Shift

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in related field of study

  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association

  • Upon hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or National Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association

  • 5 years experience in Sterile Processing and Surgical Services

  • 3 years leadership/Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study
