    POSITION

    In this role, the leader will manage and grow the Natural Resources Market Group in the Missoula office, providing water resources and environmental engineering, planning, design, and construction phase services to its clients. The leader will be responsible for developing business opportunities, delivering quality project results, and successfully leading a roughly seven-direct reports team. Design work focuses on hydraulic structures, waterways, irrigation, stormwater systems, and riparian restoration, to name a few, for natural resources-related projects. These responsibilities include:

  • Provides team leadership and supervision to project managers, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with client requirements and company policies and standards.

  • Understand civil design standards, policy, and regulation as they relate to the natural environment.

  • Monitor quality assurance and risk management procedures.

  • Prepare plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for water resources and environmental projects.

  • Oversee project design, draft plans, drawings, and models according to the client's scope of work.

  • Communicate and direct staff on business development, project schedules, staffing capacity needs, new work, and client relations.

  • Provide client service, project management, and/or design engineering as necessary.

  • Partner with the Natural Resources Director to forge profitable business endeavors. This involves planning, pursuing, and managing the development of new and existing client relationships.

  • Partner with the Natural Resources Director and Operations Manager to meet annual sales and client service goals.

  • Ensures the team meets and/or exceeds performance goals.

  • Accountable for the office group’s team and financial performance.

  • Tracks team and business performance metrics. Ensures profitability of the group by driving performance.

  • Works in tandem with the Operations Manager to meet yearly financial goals and budget.

  • Assists in personnel management, including mentoring, recruitment, performance reviews, corrective actions, training, and goal setting.

    YOUR STRENGTHS

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in water resources or related field

  • Minimum of 10+ years in engineering design and consulting services related to water resources and environmental project work

  • Advanced project management experience leading teams and complex projects

  • Knowledgeable of engineering design standards and environmental regulation and policy

  • Strong communicator through technical writing and public speaking

  • Proven client growth mindset
