Avera is currently seeking Nurse Clinical Interns for Summer 2025!

Position Highlights:

• Hands-on Direct Patient Care: Students are paired with a Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor to participate in orientation, direct patient care, and reflective practice sessions.

Job Summary

• The NCI student, under the direction of a Registered Nurse preceptor, is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for the patient. He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered on his/her shift.

• A total of 6 students will be hired in the following areas:

• Medical/Surgical Unit, ICU, Womens Center, Emergency Department (ED), Long Term Care and Same day Surgery.

Education and/or Experience

• Currently enrolled and have completed all but the final 1 or 2 semesters of a nationally accredited Registered Nurse program.

• BLS required upon hire.

Overview

• In your cover letter, please indicate which area is your 1st and 2nd choice for which you wish to be considered: Med/Surg, ICU, Womens Center, ED, Same Day Surgery or Long Term Care. The interview process will be based on this.

Work Schedule

• Day/Night Shifts: varied shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks

• Every third weekend

• Every third holiday

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is listed below.

• $20.00 per hour
