Jackie Meza with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help further their efforts on a permanent basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Strong familiarity with Accounting Principles

• Expertise in general ledger

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• ERP system experience

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
