BASF QC Lab Technician in Monaca, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician to join our Dispersions team in Monaca, PA.

During your rotating 12 hour shift as a QC Lab Technician
Principal Responsibilities
Using a variety of testing equipment including GCs, HPLC, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters, Microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems.
Conducting analytical testing on emulsion polymerization products and plant wastewater in support of In-Process and Finished Goods 24/7 ISO 9001 manufacturing operations.
Evaluating data versus internal and external specifications
Evaluating incoming Raw Materials
Performing bacteria testing
Interacting with the Supply Chain and Operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAP
Contributing and adhering to Safety, Environmental, Quality and EEO/AA standards of the Corporation, Division and Site
Available to work rotating 12 hour shifts 7:30-7:30 and overtime when needed
Process Safety Management Responsibilities
- Process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance.
Formula for Success:
Associates degree in Chemistry, Biology or other science with a minimum 6+ months of industrial experience in an QA/QC, R&D, Analytical or Environmental laboratory environment OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial lab experience in either a QA/QC, R&D, Analytical or Environmental Laboratory required.
Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments.
Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting; GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, Viscometers
Well-developed analytical methodology, insight into problem solving, and ability to record and report pertinent data.
Knowledge of SPC
On occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs.
Must be able to follow both written procedures, verbal instructions and follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment.
Willing and available to work rotating 12 hour shifts (7:30-7:30) and overtime when required
Preferred Skills
Experience working in an ISO or GMP compliance driven lab environment
Experience working in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift
Experience with emulsion polymerization products, laboratory testing and practices
The preferred candidate will have minimum 2+ years’ experience in a lab position of increasing responsibility.
