ProMedica Health System Executive Director - Development - Full Time - Days in Monroe, Michigan

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Serves as revenue/gift generating position for ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital and ProMedica Monroe Community Hospital Foundations.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a critical role in advancing ProMedica’s mission by securing and stewarding philanthropic support for the Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital and ProMedica Monroe Community Hospital Foundations. The executive director role will be a key facilitator at the board and hospital leadership level and will serve as a liaison to multiple volunteer committees and at external community events. Alongside other team members, the executive director will provide strategy and implementation of all facets of philanthropy ranging from annual fund, events to capital initiatives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for providing leadership support for philanthropy-related activity to the executive leadership and governance boards and committees at each assigned business unit. Maintains a good working relationship with business unit senior leadership. Works closely with hospital and department leaders for donor stewardship engagement and updates. Actively manages assigned donor and prospect accounts - participating in new donor identification/discovery, existing donor cultivation, gift solicitation, and stewardship following gifts. In this role, maintains current and timely donor notes in the philanthropy software database, as well as prepares and executes donor cultivation plans leading to solicitation. Actively participates as philanthropy liaison to committees planning special event fundraisers and any capital campaigns of assigned business units. In this role, coordinates with appropriate colleagues within the philanthropy division. Cultivates personal relationships with governance volunteers on the business unit and foundation boards. When appropriate, solicits annual fund contributions from these stakeholders. Supports the philanthropy team by providing counsel to peers as required and assistance with special projects as requested, such as Annual Fund Appeal. Coordinates business unit calendars for philanthropy activities, including informational and fundraising communications, special events, grateful patient events, etc. Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study and three years or more experience in a sophisticated development, customer service, sales, business role; healthcare-related preferred.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be able to manage multiple, complicated projects simultaneously.

Must be able to move about within and among multiple business units of the health system.
