Primary Responsibilities
This position has technical responsibility for mechanical, macroscopic, and metallographic testing at all ATI Specialty Materials sites.
Provides technical support to the Laboratories with regard to equipment upgrades, maintenance, and outages.
Develop Laboratory Quality Management Systems and procedures.
Review/Interpret material/quality specifications.
Creates and revises written work instructions.
Develops qualification criteria for operators.
Supports central Quality Assurance functions including internal, customer, and third-party audits
Responsible for complying with round robin and proficiency testing requirements
Actively involved with continuous improvement efforts.
Provides technical support to other ATI laboratories.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science technical degree is preferred, or equivalent years of experience. Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering degree is a plus.
Experience with nickel and titanium base alloys is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities::
Oracle experience preferred
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Communicates progress and results effectively both verbally and through written technical reports and presentations. Communication extends across business disciplines.
Ongoing contact with others outside their immediate work group, including Quality, Technology, Research and Development, and Operations
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the business

Ability to apply analytical thinking to address complex problems based on product and process data
